Unlike a lot of gamers, I have minimal interest in the
Final Fantasy series. I enjoyed
Final Fantasy VI and
IX, but the other entries in the series have just felt really boring. This goes for
VII as well. That said, the one element of these games that I cannot knock is the music. Nobuo Uematsu is a superb composer, and his music is magnificent.
If you're familiar with
Overlocked Remix (a videogame music arrangement community with some kickass downloads), you'll be familiar with some of their music album projects. Their latest project,
Voices of the Lifestream, is am
album's worth chock-a-block full of
Final Fantasy VII music arrangements. If you're a fan of the series, the music, or both, or possibly
neither, it may merit investigation.
