So by now the news has spread pretty far and wide amongst Doctor Who fans that Catherine Tate, famous in the UK for her sketch show but better known to Who fans as Donna Noble from "The Runaway Bride," the 2006 Christmas special, will be returning for the entire fourth series of the show, which is due to begin filming later this month. The obvious joke here is "Am I bovvered?" and my answer is, well, no. I'm not, in actual fact, bothered by this news at all.

I've watched "The Runaway Bride" twice inside of the past month (once on DVD and again, this Friday just gone, when it premiered on the Scifi channel here in the US) and each time I watch it I realise that Tate, while exceptionally annoying in the first fifteen minutes of the hour-long episode, doesn't do a bad job for most of the rest of the episode. In fact by the end of the episode I was actually sad to see the her decline the Doctor's offer to travel with him.

Of course, most Who fans (or Whovians, if you like) aren't happy about this. I imagine I wouldn't be either, had I only seen Catherine Tate's abysmal sketch show or used the first fifteen minutes of "The Runaway Bride" as a basis for my decision. But the character changed and, if you like, grew during that episode. It was pretty fun to watch. Besides, if nothing else, Russel T Davies has already said that Donna would have to be toned down were she to appear in an entire series. So nay-sayers there will probably be able to put up with her. If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see someone a little older in the TARDIS, and someone who's less than likely to fall head-over-heels in love with the Doctor to boot.

I'm actually annoyed about Kylie Minogue appearing in this year's Christmas special. But I won't talk about that, because it makes me angry.

I'd like to remind visitors to click on the Vote buttons to the left there. We've slowly climbed up the Top Webcomics list, from two-thousand-and-something to five-hundred-and-such over the past few days, and it'd be interesting to see if we can get enough to votes to at least make it into the top 100. Thanks for reading the comic so far.
