SoulGeek Webcomics

JjAR and I have been emailing each other and unfortunately he simply doesn't have the time to continue working on the comic. We're victims of our own success, in a way - his work here has led to him getting some pretty nice gigs elsewhere.

Of course, this leaves us in the rather sticky situation of how to resolve this issue of the comic. We may look for a new artist to help us continue, or we may opt to make the entire script available for download so that you can see how this story would have ended had it continued.

Whatever we decide to do, you'll find out no later than Tuesday. That's a promise.

I saw this coming. The death throws of a struggling webcomic with little in the way of updates was obvious. A new artist would be nice, I have no interest whatsoever in reading a script. Taa Ben, was nice while it lasted mate.

I'm glad it was obvious to someone. We tried everything possible to make it work out. The reason we brought in an external colorist was to free up some of JjAR's time, and he'd email me every so often telling me of his plans to continue work on the comic. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.

So JL is dead? No chance of anyone else stepping in?

A new artist would be the most preferable option, if it's at all possible. I don't even care if their art style is similar to JjAR as long as it's fun to look at.

Scripts are nice, but they don't feel quite the same as a good comic. :-)

It saddens me to see this, but I understand, and I appreciate the transparency.

I do have to agree that while no one could replace JjAR, it would probably be preferable to have it continue, even with a different artist, though I know finding the right replacement could be quite a challenge.

Either way, I understand and respect your decision.

oops.. stupid thing didnt post my comment the first time.

I think that it would be good to continue with a new artist, I quite enjoyed the story when the updates were semi regular.

This is a real shame, not unexpected though.

Personally I'd rather you hold off and find a new artist / get to a point where JjAR is able to continue rather than releasing the scripts prematurely. I for one would be happy to keep checking on the site for future updates.

Thanks, everybody. I'll keep this in mind and have a chat with JjAR about the possibility of finding a new artist. In the meantime I've put out some feelers to my other webcomic buddies, see if we can get you some guest strips for the next week or two.

Ben, did you get my email?

I say, new artist. JL is a comic and the script just won't cut it.

I did, Kris. I replied to it, too.

Sorry everybody. I really want to see new pages of Jump Leads online, but I just can't draw them now. So, I think we need a new artist....at least for a while........Or. Maybe we can ask another webcomic artists to draw the rest of pages as a guest strips...1 page per artist Smiley Ok, I know that this is not an easy task....but that would be awesome... as the end of our first season.
