WARNING: This post contains spoilers for the current story, specifically the
latest page. If you haven't read the latest page, do so before reading the rest of this post.
Have you read it yet?
No, really.
You need to read it before you can read on.
Done that?
Sure?
Right.
Let's begin.
You may recognize the occupants of the cargo bay, but if not here's a refresher course. They first appeared way back in
Training Day. During Meaney and Llewellyn's first field training exercise, they encountered a
horde of robots chasing a man. The robots
vaporized the man, then turned their weapons to our heroes. Captain Lucas, Meaney and Llew's chaperone for the training exercise - was
likewise killed.
We didn't see the Deadly Deadly Robots again until
The Cult of Meaney, when Meaney and Llewellyn
stumbled upon a burnt-out shell of a robot in a disused off-world Lead Service facility built into a cave. If they recognized it they didn't say anything. Certainly Llewellyn seemed to have foreknowledge of
something, given that he pointed out that
the Lead Service has some unofficial operations that occur outside of the Hub.
This latest discovery is Meaney and Llewellyn's third encounter with the Deadly Deadly Robots - their second with functional units. It's also their second run-in with Hayter. Never ignore a coincidence. Unless you're busy, in which case always ignore a coincidence.
I saw what you did there.
