I've made no secret of my love for Red Dwarf, which was a huge inspiration for the creation of this silly little comic, so I'm thrilled to bits about this news: Apparently Craig Charles (who, for the uninitiated, plays Lister in the show) announced on his show on BBC Radio 4 that not one but two new series of Red Dwarf will be filming in January of next year.

Fan opinion of last year's "Back To Earth" miniseries was mixed - I loved it, personally - but pretty much everybody agrees that it was better than Series VIII. Dave, the British network that aired the show, have made no secret of how pleased they were with the ratings for the show, and we've had plenty of hints over the last year that there may be more Red Dwarf to come. This is the biggest news we've had so far.

Excuse me while I do my Happy Dance.

Fantastic news, huge fan of red dwarf.... really loved the red dwarf day they had here years ago on television.

with the cast being thumped in a "university challenge" type arena with their die hard fans... they were gobsmacked.

less said about their singing chart success the better though Wink

great news, considering how much fun the novels were as well! grew up with "smeg head" ... amusingly my first boss was called "rimmer" and was a complete smeg head
