On the off-chance you still see the old light-blue background for the page, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 in most browsers). We have a new website! It's lavender! It's
better! Let's see what's new, shall we?
New compact, sleek designThis design makes much better use of the screen space, which is good because as nice as the old design was there was a lot of dead space to the left and right of the comic and, to be honest, it was starting to drive me nuts.
Slightly better navigation system! All of the buttons are now at the top and bottom of each page rather than at the sides. They're also clearer to read.
New improved Archive page! The old Archive page was horrible. We had a thumbnail of the cover for each issue, followed by a list of page numbers. That wasn't much help for you if you're looking for a particular part of a story. We've replaced it with a "chapter menu" system, such as you'd find on a DVD, which links to scene changes or important chapters. The downside of that is that the latest page won't always be on the Archive page, but then that's what the Latest Page button is for, isn't it?
New improved "New Reader" page! The "About" page is
gone, never to be seen again. In its place - a "New reader" page, with that fancy recap comic I put together a couple of weeks ago. The "Cast" and "Team" information is at the bottom of that page
Our store is closed! But don't worry - we'll be re-opening it soon, and in place of that one physical book we had published last year we'll instead be offering
DRM-free eBooks of each issue with hi-res artwork and extra features including early versions of pages, character and concept art, and deleted panels that have never been seen before! Perfect for reading on your laptop, netbook, or tablet. Or, at a pinch, your computer. Or you could just print them out and read them in the bath.
We'll also be making eBooks of the original scripts available at some point in the future. To give you an idea of what to expect, the script for our very first issue, Training Day, is already available as a
free download from my personal website. [update: the file has been taken down temporarily - a few of you have emailed me to let me know that it is chock-a-block with typos and errors. Whoops! I'll fix that this week.] What's the next script going to be? I haven't decided yet! Logically it'd make sense to do Issue #2, but since when have I been logical?
Meanwhile the Zazzle.com and PrintFection stores remain open, but not for much longer. If you want to get yourself a
Jump Leads tee-shirt or a
poster you have until
the end of this week. I'll be closing those stores permanently on Sunday February 28th. After that it's "So long,
Blame George," "toodle-pip
Transposition," "Buh-bye
Quantum Mechanics." Better get in quick.
And that's it for now! Enjoy the new website, let us know what you think, and keep on jumpin'!
