This week's page is devoid of humour.
Intentionally so, in fact. It serves as a fairly
important event. I'll probably talk about it a bit more on Monday, when you've had a chance to take it in and start speculating. Or something.
I know this week's page might be a little frustrating for you if you've come here looking specifically for laughs. I know how annoying it can be when you visit a webcomic you like only to discover they've decided
not to make a joke for the sake of the story*. But we're not a three- or four-panel comic strip. Jump Leads is effectively a comic book, and we do occasionally have to devote the odd page purely to story and revelation and the like. Next week's page will contain no less than
two jokes to make up for it. Possibly.
Earlier in the week, I posted
thoughts on the passing of Mike Wieringo and it's impact on Scott Kurtz. My Dad, who it may interest you to know is my
father, read my post today and in turn read Scott's post. He was moved to tears too, he says, and it's not
fitting for a gentleman to be sat at his desk at work sobbing like a girl. Well, that's what
I was doing on Tuesday. Apparently. Let it known that my Dad is just as much of a big softie as I am.
* Edit at 4:33am - And they've
done it again. I actually
like Starslip Crisis, as you're well aware, so for a four-panel scifi-comedy webcomic to omit the comedy two strips in a row is disappointing.
