Earlier today, I posted two tweets on
my Twitter page:
SoulGeek has unfortunately pulled out of WonderCon entirely, and now it looks like they won't be at ComicCon either
...which leads me to ask: Is there anyone who's already down for a booth fancy... well, sharing it? I'll obviously split the cost with you.
It looks like some people have taken that to mean SoulGeek has screwed me over, which is not the case. A week or so ago I made the decision myself to pull out of WonderCon because I couldn't afford to get tee-shirts and books ready in time. I decided instead to focus my time and money on getting ready for the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing and the San Diego Comic-Con. SoulGeek had still planned to be at WonderCon, however JE Draft of
Challenges of Zona also pulled out.
This would leave Dino paying for a table where he's, well, handing out fliers. With the economy as it is, it's not really in Dino's interest to spend out so much money for very little return, so he decided to pull out of WonderCon entirely. He still plans for SoulGeek to be at the San Diego Comic-Con, but as the best way to get a gauranteed spot at SDCC is to have exhibited at WonderCon, the odds of getting a table are diminished. Dino hasn't given up on Comic-Con yet, but I have to keep my options open, so I've been asking if anyone is interested in splitting the cost of a booth.
Apparently people took this to mean, "SoulGeek has cut me out of WonderCon and Comic-Con, so you should all contact Dino and tell him his big ugly face is as dumb as a butt." Which is, well,
not the case. Not the case
at all. I apologise to anyone who got that impression from my tweets, and I especially apologise to Dino, who's had to get yelled at by some people on my account. Whoops.
