Quiet, asshat.

Nah-uh! The commentary seemed to have died and with no comic, colored or otherwise, appearing "within the next few days", I HAD to say something... So... Something... heh heh heh

For the record, it was posted on August 23rd by Ben that the comic would be coloured and posted in "the next few days". With no new post in with an update on the expected arrival, we have been left over 2 weeks waiting. An update would be nice, if not the comic itself, just to advise of expectations.

Talk to meh!!! heh heh

Posted by Ben on September 21st 2011 @ 9:34am GMT
It's worth mentioning that the two pages that were posted in black and white have since been posted in colour. Which is nice.

I'll have something more conclusive to tell you at the end of the week.

Cool beans bro!

Hang on, when did Meaney and Llewellyn switch eye colours?

Posted by aSShAT on September 29th 2011 @ 3:42pm GMT
They didn't switch, they changed completely. Meaney's were blue, now brown. Llewellyn's were brown, now green. Hmmm... Contacts?

Posted by Ridley on September 29th 2011 @ 3:57pm GMT
Prehaps Hayter took out his eyeJump by mistake. Undecided

Ben, any news? It is well passed "the end of the week."

Just curious, I don't wish to be flame-broiled... well not yet anyway. Savin' that delectable event for when I "go to hell" as I am often told. heh heh

Well now - over two months - Have the creative juices dried up ? Just asking ..Sad

Posted by aSShAT on October 10th 2011 @ 4:25pm GMT
From what I understand, the script is all written for this chapter. Only the art and colouring need be done. When those will arrive no one in charge seems to be willing to make a reasonable estimate of timeline and stick to it. Updates from the powers that be would be nice as I am sure they come here, read this stuff, then leave.

I agree with aSShAT... It's perfectly understandable that the team is going through a rough time and that the update schedule is therefore a little unpredictable at best. Still, it would be nice to get some news "from the front" every once in a while, and if it's just to see that this webcomic is not dead yet... Which would be a real pity, since it still has a lot of potential.

I know Ben will probably want me flayed and dipped in lemon juice for having the temerity to make such an impertinent suggestion, but...

Why not just find a temporary artist to fill in for Jjar?

Jjar's a terrific artist for sure, but if he's so incredibly busy, would it be so bad to get someone else to fill in for him?

Before the mob descends on me with the tar and feathers, I'm not suggesting this should be a permanent replacement, by any means.

Just get a temp artist to fill the breach, so the story can progress to the end of this chapter. Then put the comic on hiatus until Jjar can return.

Would that be so unbearable?

Posted by Szeridan on October 15th 2011 @ 9:25am GMT
Actually, I've been thinking about the same thing for some time now... Although I really do enjoy Jjar's art and his style a lot, I also do enjoy the story of this comic... And having to wait over a month for a single page makes it pretty frustrating over time, even if every single page looks really great when it does.

As much as it pains me to say this, but if another artist could push up the speed of things, this would really be something worth considering - especially if the alternative would be quitting this comic form altogether (as Ben's last post might suggest).

Let the flaying begin. ;-)

The trouble with a fill-in artist is that it does mean some visual inconsistency in a story, which I'm not a fan of... also, there's a chance that the fill-in artist's work just wouldn't line up with the quality of Jjar's lineart (like that hack who drew the Waterworld fill-in story a while ago).

I do appreciate how frustrating it is having to wait (as colourist, I've already seen the script for this story, and even then I hate waiting for the pages!), but it's the way it is sadly. That's not to say we don't appreciate people waiting of course!

I'm reminded of the phrase "good things come to those who wait". Smiley

Maybe this isn't a comic at all. Maybe Ben and Jjar are really meaney and llew and this 'comic' is really just an elaborate siftlog AND NOW THEY"VE BEEN KILLED BY THE MILITIABOT THINGIES ...... and we'll never here from them again .. . . .

I honestly think the B&W idea is good, Jjar could always still colour the opening page for each issue and I would be satisfied.

That being said, I've waited around for more than two months before, and I'll keep waiting for as long as it takes because I really enjoy this webcomic. Keep up the good work guys, and don't let the few naysayers and ragequitters get you down.

ok now, three months have passed, time for a new page if you please.

Posted by Ben on November 29th 2011 @ 8:43am GMT
We've written extensively about why we haven't been able to update the comic. I'm sorry you're disappointed - we are too.

At the moment we're trying to find another artist to at the least help us finish this story. It may be a while yet.

Big fan of the story and artwork you guys have been able to put out thus far, and I'll gladly keep checking in your site in hopes of an update (I got your link in my "inconsistent updates" folder I check randomly once a week... (why am I divulging so much personal information? (did I just stick a parenthetical clause within another one (!!!! i just did it again!)))
