Okay - is it meant to be funny that the power lead for the ultra-high-tech skiffy force field is an early 20th Century two-prong plug and outlet with no grounds? 
Or that a huge norwegian brown rat gets into a high-tech sealed circuit box and is chewing on live wires without getting fried? =D
Frankly, I think it is. Because frankly, it is.
Also, I'm really disappointed that the dude wasn't able to at least give a half-remembered, inexpertly copied clue as to the Hub coordinates, but there you go.
