@catherine -- I imagined it as him kind of glancing over his shoulder at nothing in particular. Kind of in a reminiscing, "oh, back when I conquered the world" kind of way.I'm very entertained by the line "I can see why it's frustrating for you" for some reason.

I like what he says in the second panel. Because usually when the heroes of something are fired upon, with lethal force, the shooters have a very bad aim.
